GFI Israel partnered with the experienced food engineers Liran Gruda and Asaf Cohen-Jonathan to launch a new initiative designed to supercharge academic innovation in organoleptic excellence and price parity for alternative meats. This is your chance to take your groundbreaking ideas to the next level!

Academic researchers are invited to apply for exclusive, free-of-charge access to strategic ideation consultations and hands-on lab testing. We partnered with experienced food engineers for the project: Chef Liran Gruda and Asaf Cohen-Jonathan.
This initiative will allow you to collaborate with experts, assess your novel ideas / raw materials / processes / formulations and obtain valuable insights which will help navigate your research to shape the future of sustainable protein and towards application in alternative meats.

“Food engineering is the profession which integrates the understanding of the production process of food ingredients, and the formulation and production process of final food products” says Anton Slavkin, Science and Technology Manager at GFI Israel. “Culinary science enables the optimization of taste, aroma and textures for the foods we all consume – in order to maximize their palatability. Experts in these fields, which choose to work on alternative meats, are invaluable for reaching organoleptic parity between alternative meats and their counterparts. Collaborations between them and academic researchers with innovative research and ideas – is the ultimate “sandbox” that we believe could serve as a fertile ground for disruptive solutions needed to achieve the parity goal.”
